READY TO MEET THE PARENTALS? IT’S A BIG STEP, BUT YOU CAN PREP! CHECK OUT MY SIMPLE TIPS BELOW, ON HOW TO CONFIDENTLY SHINE WITH THE PARENTS, AND IN YOUR LOVER’S EYES…

SET BOUNDARIES 

Try and pick a neutral spot that can have a clear beginning and end.  Going out for dinner is always a safe bet.

BRING A GIFT

No need to spend a lot here - if you're going to the house for dinner, bring a bottle of wine or a dessert.  Flowers are also a classic.  

INVITE THEM TO YOU 

Show off your hosting skills.  Be sure to have a cocktail ready to greet them with! 

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF 

If you're like me, you have a Ph.D. in stalking.  Use those skills and gain some intel.  

SWITCH OFF THE PDA

No matter how long the relationship, it makes others uncomfortable.

DON’T OVERTHINK IT

Overthinking can make you become tense and awkward.  Try and be your genuine self. 

DRESS THE PART 

Let your personal style show, but make sure not too much else does. 

ASK THEM QUESTIONS 

Show them you care and are interested in getting to know them as well. Nervous? Think of questions beforehand.
