MARK THE OCCASION: A New Wave Of Celebrating

In the era of social distancing and postponing events - and weddings in particular, until who knows when, KMEvents is here to offer some great and creative ways to honor your original date.My biggest advice to all of my clients is and has always been: maintain perspective.  I tell them to keep in mind during the planning process -  it is a marriage they are embarking on, the fabulous party is just a celebration of that.

Once this crisis hit, I realized I can give back and connect with my community.  Since I offer a service and not a product, the greatest asset that I have is expertise and advice. Shifting to something more intimate is a wonderful way to honor your date.  The big celebration may not happen now, but it can happen later.  In the meantime, there are some romantic ways to commemorate the original planned date, or to celebrate despite all of this. Case in point, Elaine Welteroth’s chic-AF stoop wedding in Brooklyn.

Now that gatherings of ten have been legalized, vendors want to help you mark your milestones and are pivoting their business model to reflect more intimate celebrating for the time being. KMEvents is here to give you hope, keep you dreaming, and to create an elevated personalized experience on an intimate scale.

TAKE IT OUTSIDE

Whether a stoop, a park, or your own backyard - it is the safest way to distance while being together.

OFFER SUPPLIES

I typically say the best way to greet guests is with a welcome cocktail but, for the time being, it has shifted to become the second best thing. Having a basket full of masks, gloves, and sanitizers to make your guests feel comfortable is priority #1. Make the precautions a bit more fun by creating a cute sanitizing station and giving guests custom packets of wipes, personalized masks, etc.

MAKE IT PERSONAL

Smaller gatherings offer a chance to really focus on personalizing the details. Work with your planner to create custom items like illustrated menus and placecards. Consider each guests and use thoughtful details to carry throughout.

RETHINK THE FLOW

Whether 10, 20, or 50 people - we see certain things shifting for the foreseeable future. I think catering companies will be more focused on plated dinners rather than buffets, for sanitary concerns. The dinner party is back!  Seating vignettes and satellite bars will be spread out so a crowd doesn't gather too closely.

Remember… if this quarantine has taught us anything, it is that life is worth celebrating, even with some tweaks. We can create a stunning and intimate event that will surely keep you dreaming.
